Bai Tian Gong 2010

The ninth day of Chinese New Year is a significant important day for Hokkiens. It's the day which the Hokkiens express their gratitude to the Heavenly God for blessing them throughout the year.

My families are purely Hokkien, therefore we behold this relief too. A simple yet meaningful praying session is carried out at the late night of 8th day Chinese New Year. For your information, the time for the praying session vary every year.

Every food that used for the praying represent some good meaning. For your example, fat choi represent fat =]

The Journey to Langkawi with Family

Still remember a super short Preview of my Langkawi Trip during Chinese New Year this year? Basically it was a family trip of my family and TeeJay family on 4th of Chinese New Year, ya we two families are pretty closed to each other.

Anyway, I'm not gonna cramp all pictures into one blog post, I will separate it to few post as my usual blogging style.

Okay, why Langkawi of all other available choice we have to go for tour during Chinese New Year? Practically my family planned to go Hatyai instead of Langkawi, however all the rooms were fully booked till 7th of Chinese New year. I guess it's pretty good decision not to go Hatyai or else we will just stuck at the emigration few hours just to get our border pass/passport chopped that I experienced the last journey.

Add on, the last time my mom went Langkawi was at least 10 years back during Lima. Guess Langkawi is almost a new image to her now.

Famous Fried Oyster at Carnarvon Street Penang Island

On the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, my family and my aunt family went down to visit my uncle house in Penang Island.

Upon arrival at Penang Island, Uncle Alan suggested the famous Fried Oyster at Carnarvon Street for our lunch. This is the first time I'm visiting this place and get to taste this nice fried food.

Look at the crowd upon our arrival at the Coffee Shop...

Teo Chew Style Fried Oyster

Apart from Fried Oyster, there are few stalls in the coffee shop selling different variety of food...

I personally heart this wan tan mee a lot... It's worth having it as main course before the Fried Oyster arrive..

The Keow Teow Soup my sister had, a less oily with hand made fish ball and added egg makes the food even healthier and tastier...

Main Food of the day

According to the boss (abstract from newspaper content), in order for a crispy fried oyster, a combination of food oil and pig oil is needed as the frying medium. Not forgetting the freshness of oyster following with their frying skill.

Cutest Girl in My World Now!

This post I gonna write on the cutest girl currently in my mind xD

I think you guys will get me wrong by just reading the post title, I'm actually writing about my cute little niece Jae Mie =]

During the First day of Chinese New Year, my sister and brother-in-law brought Jae Mie together to Sungai Petani to visit my Grandma. You will know how eager my Grandma wanna meet Jae Mie as she's the first great grand children she has.

During the house visit to some uncle house, Jae Mie was our great entertainment of the day. She can be as active as a monkey run all over up and down (Guess all kids are like that), no worry for this part as my dad volunteer to babysit this little cute girl (First grand children as well) .

Decided to make a photoshoot for her that day since environment is so nice, she's wearing so pretty and smile non-stop! Mainly because i don't have other things to do lar! haha..

Some dance move?

First Day Of Chinese New Year

Haloo, since CNY is over let spend some time refreshing my days during CNY xD

As for the hokkien culture, first day of CNY we must eat this!!!....

The sweet longan, lotus and ginko!

It does bring some good things/luck but don't ask me what's the exact wan!

After my lunch at my aunt house in Alor Star (My family usual routine on CNY), we departed to Sungai Petani my Grandma house.

The important things during CNY that we kids never forget is to collect ang pao!

Since my family is more and less on the traditional track, we have to line up and come out with lots of wishes to earn the ang pao. That's why people say no free lunch in the world ==''

Grandma distributing Ang Pao

My dad a low profile wan just distribute the ang pao to everyone before this ceremony actually start xDxD

It's my second uncle time to distribute the ang pao....

Then lastly my 3rd Uncle time...

My brother scratching head for wishes!

So hows your Ang Pao grabbing session goes alike? Share with me here =]=]
